WeSavvy is a digital insurance platform that gives insurance customers the ability to get cash points on their insurance premium with their everyday activities, just by walking, running or cycling. Through its service offering WeSavvy is the first to deliver insurance as a vehicle for personal and social empowerment.

WeSavvy has been selected to join Iowa-based Mentor-Driven General Insurance Accelerator on the February 9th 2016.

WeSavvy, a Dublin-based Insurance FinTech startup, founded by Dubliner Hesus Inoma, today announced it has been selected to join the second class of the Global Insurance Accelerator (GIA), the prestigious global business accelerator focused on developing and growing innovative insurance-centric startups. WeSavvy is one of five startups chosen for the Des Moines-based 100-day program beginning on February 9, 2016 and will receive seed investment from GIA.

WeSavvy’s innovative solution is simple; by incentivising, promoting and gamifying healthier behaviour, it aims to bring about a generational change to how insurance products can work for customers.

The free WeSavvy app and platform will be available to the public once WeSavvy has completed the GIA 100-day program. Customers can then simply, download the WeSavvy App or log on to wesavvy.com where Medical Cash Plans, Income Protection Cash Plans and Personal Accident Cash Plans will all be available for purchase/renewal by customers by mid-2016. Late 2016 will see WeSavvy’s policy plans increasing to a full array of Life and Protection insurance products (including Mortgage Protection, Serious Illness, Income Protection).

Once a policy is purchased/ renewed, customers can track their daily exercise activity and earn cash points on their premium, which can be used to renew a policy or purchase products on the WeSavvy platform.

Home to the insurance innovation capital of the U.S., the GIA began in 2014 as an initiative of the Greater Des Moines Partnership. It is the only U.S.-based insurance accelerator that helps grow insurance-focused technology startups. The GIA’s inaugural class began its accelerator program in February 2015 and consisted of six portfolio companies from all over the world.

At the end of the program, WeSavvy will have the opportunity to pitch its digital insurance platform to more than 350 industry executives at the annual Global Insurance Symposium in Des Moines.
