Christmas can be a stressful time for many. But the ability to create applications that help fix pain points could alleviate consumers’ biggest concerns, according to ServiceNow’s new research of over 1,500 respondents from UK and Ireland.
While general costs and finance top the list of consumer stresses in both countries, Irish respondents (55%) are significantly more concerned than their UK counterparts (37%). In fact, with the exception of wrapping presents, on the whole, Irish respondents appear to find Christmas activities more stressful.

However, despite app stores having run for a number of years, there is still a big demand for additional apps that will help consumers over the festive season, with 83% stating that they would find various apps useful to help them at Christmas. Over half (52%) of Irish consumers would like an app that manages their budget to prevent overspending, while more than a quarter (27%) want an app that records all the best new Christmas TV shows.

“There are many tasks that people find stressful in the post Toy Show / pre-Christmas run-up and Irish consumers would clearly love to see innovative technology that can help fix these pain points,” comments Mark Cockerill, VP – Legal, EMEA and ServiceNow Ireland.
