About Aeonspark Events
Aeonspark Events is Ireland’s Premium Gaming Event Management Company. Our goal is to create multiple B2B and B2C events that will enable Ireland to become a central hub for Gaming both here and abroad. Attracting international attention through Industry Standard Meetings such as Dublin Games Summit and friendly, entertaining and accessible large-scale gaming events such as Dublin Games Week (2019) and multiple events in between.
What stands us apart from anyone else in the space is ourselves and our experience. We are gamers at heart and from running large gaming events to managing a large portfolio of customers we know what gamers want. Experience in AV, Event Management, Exhibitions, Online Platforms, Media, Online and Offline Gaming, we are not only poised to make that difference that everyone wants but we have the skill sets to do so.
The team is made up of six Directors, three of which have extensive experience in the event business with Total Expo and GFD.ie. The other 3 Directors in Aeonspark come from the gaming space themselves along with large amount of experience in event management and online gaming media with 8-Bit Conference, GEX and Elite Gamer.
Dublin Games Summit
DGS is Ireland’s newest and only dedicated industry standard meeting between gaming professionals across multiple platforms both here and abroad. Ireland has a long history in video games starting as far back as Atari in the late 1970’s. Since then Ireland has continued to thrive as individual developers and startups alike have made their footprint in the global gaming market. Companies such as Havok which was founded by Hugh Reynolds and Steven Collins has been developing software for 20 years and can be seen in over 150 games such as Half-Life 2, Elder Scrolls IV, Super Smash Bros. Brawl and many others. In 2007 Intel acquired Havok and in 2015 Intel sold it to Microsoft. This is just one of the many success stories that have come out of Ireland, others include Romero Games where John & Brenda Romero out of Galway where they created critically acclaimed games such as Doom, Quake and Wolfenstein 3D. Brendan Greene creator of Player Unknown’s Battleground (possibly the most popular online shooters of 2017) and Sean Murray the creator of No Mans Sky (One of the most highly anticipated games of 2017).
Dublin Games Summit will commence on the 19th July at the newly refurbished Alex Hotel in Dublin City Centre. The summit will be highlighting homegrown talent as well as inviting international talent over to Ireland to create the next European hub for gaming. At DGS we want to celebrate the success, the innovation and the talent that video games have to offer. With speakers like Steven Collins (Co-Founder at Havok), Sam Watts (Director of Immersive Technologies at Make Real and one of the most influential people in VR in the world, Travis George (Previous producer on League of Legends), David Yarnton (Co-Chair at Ukie), Jen Carey (Board member of IMIRT and founder of fickle games), Sophie Sampson (Director of Matheson Marcault) and many more. The day will consist of 2 rooms holding over 12 different topics from industry professionals. Consisting of keynotes, panels, 1-1 meetups, networking lunch and evening event, on-site activations and more.
This is only the beginning of Aeonsparks events with a multi-year roadmap to cement Ireland as a future ambassador and hub for all things gaming throughout Europe and further afield
