Ireland’s first Social Media Summit 2016. In pictures, by Marie-Clare Byard

Thanks to one women’s driving ambition @Tweetinggoddess herself Samantha Kelly to bring her idol Social Media influencer @TedRubin and many more to Ireland, last week saw the birth of the first “Social Media Summit” in Ireland and what a success it was !

I had the pleasure of being part of the Social Media Summit Team photographing the event for instant Social Media sharing across multiple platforms. The event was a great opportunity for business owners and social media experts, gurus and novices to network and connect in person.

With Social Media being the theme of the event it was reflected in the attendees and speakers who broadcast on every available networking platform via photos and video. Live Streaming on Meerkat, Periscope and Snapchat instantly sharing the event with their followers.

Ted Rubin preached to the converted about the ROR a phrase he uses for “Return on Relationship”, while we are all busy tweeting and posting online, we still need to invest in building relationships.

It was announced at the closing via a video from the man himself – Joel Comms that he is is coming to Ireland next year for Social Media summit 2017!

In conclusion I would say the magic of this event was it’s intimacy, you got to just hang out with the top social media influencers over the course of the 2 days, as Samantha said in her opening address, leave your ego outside the door, everyone obviously took her advice well !

Roll on Social Media Summit 2017
