Ipsos MRBI released results of their latest poll on social media account ownership in Ireland amongst adults aged 15 or over. The largest increases this year were: Facebook 60%(+4), Instagram 14%(+4). Also Snapchat 11% – asked about for the 1st time this year. Facebook was up 4% over this time last year to 60% while twitter (27% unchanged) and Linkedin (20% down 1% over this time last year) showed little or no change.
We still seem to be a strong Facebook society which is interesting considering that not so long ago Facebook was reporting to be losing users. What the study doesn’t tell us though is how often we use these accounts which, for advertisers, is probably the more interesting statistic.
