IP Telecom hopes to spur Peamount United victory this Saturday, announcing €500 for every goal scored to support girls’ academy Development

IP Telecom, Ireland’s leading innovative telecommunications service provider and lead sponsor of the Peamount United Women’s League of Ireland Team has announced a special incentive for the team ahead of their final game of the Women’s Premier Division this weekend. For every goal scored by Peamount United against Sligo Rovers, IP Telecom will contribute €500 to the girls’ academy team, helping foster and develop the next generation of Peamount players. IP Telecom announced its sponsorship of Peamount United Women’s Senior Team earlier this year.

Peamount United, who have had a stellar season in the Women’s Premier Division, are the leaders of the league ahead of the final game of the league this Saturday 11th at home against Sligo Rovers, following which they will be crowned champions. Topping the table with an unassailable 49 points, the extra incentive that IP Telecom is providing on top of their sponsorship adds a new dimension to this weekend’s final game. With Captain of the Peamount United side, Karen Duggan describing this season as “the most rewarding year of football that I’ve ever had”, this is a great chance for the Peas to top off an exceptional season.

Speaking on the announcement, Shena Brien, CEO of IP Telecom said: “It has been a truly fantastic season for Peamount United, with excitement in every game. We are immensely proud to be associated with a team that embodies the true essence of sporting excellence and dedication. It has been a pleasure to sponsor Peamount United this year, in the first year of a multi-year deal, and we congratulate them on their victory in the Women’s Premier Division.

“But having won the league with a few games in hand, we thought it would be a great way for us to celebrate the last game of the season with an extra incentive to help develop the next generation of success within the club. IP Telecom looks forward to continuing our partnership, as we continue to empower the next generation of powerful women across Sport, Business and Technology.”

The Peamount United team, based in Greenogue in South County Dublin, holds a special place in the heart of IP Telecom’s CEO, Shena Brien, who has been a loyal supporter of the team in her local community for many years. This year marks the second victory for the Senior Women’s Team in the Women’s Premier Division, having previously claimed the championship title in 2020. The South Dublin team boasts players of international level, with stars such as Katie Taylor, Stephanie Roche, Louise Quinn and Karen Duggan, having worn the Peamount United jersey.
