Using Intelligent Automation and Machine Learning to Improve Business, entrepreneurial insights with Danny Goh

Interesting interview with Danny Goh

What is your background briefly?

I came from an entrepreneur family where I have been following my dad to do business since 7 years old. Since then I’ve been starting a few ventures along the way while I move across Australia, HK, US and the UK. I’ve been passionate about the latest technology since I was young and have been starting different technology startups.

Does it seem like a logical background to what you do now?

Absolutely, through different ventures, all I thrive to do was to create something better or unique using technology to allow people to live and work faster and more efficient. I’ve always been an early adopter in trying all the new technologies and if I am interested in it, I will always go all the way in to understand and work with the technical expert to find a business case to solve it.

1 min pitch for what you are doing now?

I’ve been spending a lot of time to build a company, Nexus Frontier Tech since 4 years ago, apart from my startup advisory and teaching role in various Universities, which I enjoy very much in working with the young people to see how innovative they can be.

Nexus Frontier Tech is a global AI firm offering advanced Intelligent Automation and Machine Learning solutions to enterprises operating in data-intensive industries and want to streamline their processes. While industry-agnostic, we primarily serve clients in highly regulated sectors such as Financial Services, Healthcare, and Legal who must adhere to complex and ever-changing regulation standards whilst aligning compliance functions with business growth initiatives.

Understanding the need for businesses to extract unstructured data within fast-changing workflows, we’ve developed AI solutions that use powerful machine learning technology to ingest this unstructured data in various formats and turn it into actionable insights. Our AI Automation Platform, allows teams across all departments to easily deploy, manage and integrate AI models in one easy-to-use interface without interrupting their system’s existing processes and workflows.

The result is a seamless end-to-end process solution that allows employees to spend less time on repetitive, mundane tasks and more time on more human-cantered issues, decision-making, and anomalies.

With operations headquartered in the UK, a production office of 100+ in Vietnam, and R&D teams in both Tokyo and Singapore, we are well-positioned to address the needs of a growing global client base while attracting high-calibre talent to our growing teams. Our management team and advisory board consist of business leaders, practitioners, academics and researchers that together provide an unrivalled pool of knowledge and insight.

What was the aim beyond writing the book?

We do not want to write another technical AI book as the bottleneck of this technology is actually implementing it into our business and life rather than keep researching it in the labs. More and more people need to aware of how this technology work like how people realised how internet could have changed our lives and adopt it. I really hope the book can not only be a tool for me to explain my idea in a classroom but also to express my view of two points, that this technology is going to change our live like the internet did to us, and we must embrace it while considering all the social aspects of how it would change us.

See our review of the book here.

You mention discussing how soon AI adoption is happening. What are your thoughts on this?

The adoption of AI technology is still very early but large enterprise is always the first one to try and adopt it, the reason is very simple, it brings them strong competitive advantage in whether reducing their cost heavily or changing their business process hence allowing them to create new products or services. There are already a lot of large enterprises who are trying out there in the last few years and the change is already happening surrounding us.

Do you agree that it is already happening very quickly? Or are we overestimating how soon it may become ubiquitous?

Oh it is absolutely already happening surrounding us. Business process are already much seamless and targeted to each consumer, autonomous driving is starting to come to semi-autopilot car models. Take mobile phone’s photo for example, people are changing their phone once a year or two years and the quality of the photos are just getting way better and also changing how people are interacting each other, by text, video and now photos…

How do we manage /counter/deal with the potential misuses of this as we have seen with FB / Cambridge Analytica and others?

Again this is one of the main purposes of writing The AI Republic. Researchers cannot just hide in the lab but they must know what applications can the technology be applied onto and design it in a better way. Same thing with if the scientists/researchers do not get involve into the real life applications, their work will be easier to be mis used by business people with wrong intention. So I believe we need to bring more researchers onto the main street and also to let more business people to understand how this technology can work in order to bridge the gap between the two.

How can people find out more about you personally & your work?
