A new, Irish-developed, nursing home care management IT platform has been launch by a company based in Co. Roscommon. Designed with expert advice from healthcare management professionals, InselCare is a resident centred solution that supports patient safety and care standards. The platform is being officially launched during this Nursing Homes Week, June 18th – 24th 2018 and has received positive reviews from the market to date.
InselCare includes both clinical and non-clinical care management modules enabling nursing home operators to deliver quality care management, improve efficiencies, control and visibility of resident care delivery and ensure procedures meet regulatory and compliance requirements. 16 months in development by a large team of developers with wide experience in software development for healthcare delivery, the new system is a complete ERP (enterprise resource planning) cloud based hybrid solution. Inselcare is touch screen based, intuitive and very simple to operate. Importantly, nursing care staff do not need to be IT literate to use InselCare. Being cloud based and hybrid enables the system to work both online and offline: in the event that wifi is unavailable the system’s care module will record data offline and automatically update once wifi becomes available again.
InselCare offers a competitive installation cost and a rolling monthly subscription based on the number of occupied residents’ beds and not nursing home capacity. Unlike other systems on the market cost includes full access to all the platform’s functionality, once installed.
The new platform is currently being piloted in nursing homes in Co. Roscommon and Co. Wexford.
InselCare expects to work with 10% of the nursing home market within 12 months of launch and plans to introduce the platform in the UK within two years.
