Innovation Jam takes place 6 March , Bank of Ireland, Startlab

When and where is it on?

6 March from 10.00-17.00 at the Bank of Ireland Startlab at  88 – 90 Camden St. Lower, Dublin 2.

How many years has it been going?

This is the 3rd year that we have run the global competition.

What was the inspiration to start it?

In 2016, Temenos started MarketPlace, its app store, to make it easy for its customer to find and procure the best fintech solutions. We knew that for MarketPlace to be successful, we needed to find the very best fintech companies and to actively engage our customers. The Innovation Jam has proved to be the perfect vehicle to do both of these things.

What exciting things can people look forward to?

The event has 7 min demos from Ireland’s most exciting fintech companies, so they’ll see innovative solutions in a fast paced format. They will be able to decide the winner, who will then compete against the winners of the other 7 jams in the final in May. In addition, they will hear from great speakers, such as Jason Bates co-founder of consultancy 11:FS.

What opportunities are on offer for those attending?

For those pitching, they can win the opportunity to compete in the global final which is attended by over 1,200 people, mostly senior bankers. For those attending, they get the chance to hear about the latest fintech trends, see the best of Irish fintech and network with some of the most influential people in Irish fintech.

Who will be speaking?

Speakers from bank of Ireland such Garvan Callan – Director of Strategy, Digital & Innovation at Bank of Ireland; speakers from Temenos, such as Ben Robinson, Chief Strategy Officer; Jason Bates, co-founder of 11:FS; and representatives from 12 of Ireland’s best fintech companies

What tips would you give to people attending to get the most out of it?

Take notes during the pitches otherwise they’ll forget who’s who when they come to vote; be active on social – lots of prizes on offer; stay for drinks – we’ll have some of the most interesting people from Dublin’s fintech community in attendance so great networking opportunities

How can people book tickets / when does it usually sell out?

People can apply to join the event using  this link. We have a few spaces left

Anything else you’d like to add / we should have asked?

The other competitions run in Miami, Hong Kong, Geneva, Amsterdam, Luxembourg, London, Abu Dhabi. Competing in Dublin are Pushfor, Plynk, 4securitas, Circit, HID, ID Pal, DocumentationHQ, RecEasy, Trezeo, NetGuardians, Validata and Luna Connect.
