The Coronavirus shows that you cannot predict the future. That does not mean you can engineer your own destiny. Hence, “Engineering the future”. Unpredictable does not mean unprepared.

Below are some of the topics the book covers:

It covers fitness

It should come as no surprise that you are better capable of dealing with crises when you are physically and mentally fit.

Covering anti-fragile

If you have followed Naseem Taleb, the black swan that has hit us should not have come as a surprise. What is being tested is how antifragile you are a person and as a business. Are you overdependent on technology, business models, clients and suppliers? Did you build a financial buffer? How antifragile are you?

Covering technology trends

It should have come of no surprise that more and more business models are being digitised and are going online. Corona has just accelerated this process.

Covering leadership

Now is the time for the real leader to emerge. Now is the time to show what you are made off. Now it is time to create your legacy. Now is the time to redefine your purpose. Now it is time to define the story and create a sense of direction.

Covering innovation

The need for innovation should also not come as a surprise. But now there is the perfect burning platform to speed up de innovation agenda. Use scenario planning, storytelling, science fiction, design your information dashboard and get cracking.

Covering exponential

We have now seen in front of our eyes, what exponential means.

Covering unlearning

Nothing will ever be the same. Forget everything you know or have learned. The new paradigm has arrived. Think basic income, think climate, think local, think shortening of supply lines, think circular, think abundance, think people realising what is important, think new politics, think enlightened leadership.

Think surveillance, think online, think less travel, think community, think family, think health, think mental fitness, think meaning of life, think changing perspective on work, jobs and their added value, think bullshit jobs, think data, think elderly care, think lots of babies being born, think wearable, thinks sensors, think IoT, think 3D printing, think AR and VR, think online gaming, think economy, think Gross National Happiness, think Buddhist economics. Think pendulum. Action is reaction. I can go on for a while. It will be fantastic and ultimately all for the better.

Now is the time

Now is the time to think about engineering your own future. My book will give the tools to help you to do that. You can order it here https://ronimmink.com/product/engineering-the-future/
