How to get and retain the best Fintech talent, Paul Smyth, Top Tier Recruitment at #Fintech20 October 26th

By @SimonCocking quick catch up with Paul Smyth from Top Tier Recruitment, the leading Fintech recruitment company, who will be hosting a panel discussion around recruitment and retention with a particular focus on different issues facing FinTech companies at various stages of growth.

1 min pitch for what you are doing now?

Growing Top Tier Recruitment, our brand and refining our offering to current and prospective clients. Our aim is to become the go to recruitment consultancy in the FinTech space.

How was the last 12 months, what worked well, what didn’t move as quickly as you would have liked?

The last 12 months established us as a brand in the market and saw us move office and start to grow. Our commitment to delivery saw us gain better traction with existing clients and generated referral business which is the biggest compliment we can be paid. We would have liked to tick a few more things off the list but had to focus on generating business and filling clients’ requirements.

What are your plans for the future?

We have a lot of areas we would like to make improvements in but one of our main focuses is to fully develop a new website with a more dedicated FinTech sector offering advice and outlining how we can support the community. Also, we want to formally launch our fully outsourced recruitment solution which has worked well with a couple of clients to date. We think this will be highly in demand for high growth clients in particular who want to outsource recruitment fully.

What will you be talking about at the #Fintech20 event on October 26th?

We are hosting a panel discussion around recruitment and retention with a particular focus on different issues facing FinTech companies at various stages of growth. We are going to try (within the timeframe) to look at how you can grow your own sourcing channels, develop your own employer brand and get your culture right to help with recruiting and retaining the best and brightest.

What inspired you to attend it?

We have attended and sponsored a number of events in this space. Aside from wanting to improve our brand awareness in the FinTech space, we want to be able support events like this and others. We really believe that these types of events allow the FinTech industry in Ireland to continue to grow.

Which influencers and websites do you follow to keep up to date with the latest developments?

Keeping up to date is really important for us and aside from the usual blogs, websites and influencers, we really like to talk to our contacts in the industry and to those around the industry (advisors, investors, etc.). We like to get our information at source whenever possible!

How can people find out more about what you are working on?

Our website – www.toptierrecruitment.com and LinkedIn are probably the best ways to follow us.
