How to effectively Pitch to Investors, learn more at Monaco Blockchain Conference, May 31st

Interview with our own @SimonCocking who is curating and speaking at the Monaco Blockchain Conference, May 31st.

1 min pitch for what you are doing now?

Good question. Chief editor at Irish Tech News, trying to keep up our high level of quality articles, and then also advising new, up and coming and existing blockchain companies in how to achieve successful promotion, investor leads for their crowd funding campaigns. I also help them with their overall social media strategy and content creation campaigns.

How was the last year, what worked well, what didn’t move as quickly as you would have liked?

Well the flatlining of the global crypto market didn’t help anyone, reducing investor confidence. That said the good companies with a more long term approach to it all kept working away and achieving their road map targets and goals. Also, as is generally the case, things always take longer than we would like, even when they are going well, and are more or less on course. So, while I am a little impatient sometimes perhaps, overall it was probably more or less as expected and a lot of great things were achieved. So let’s say the glass is half full.

What are your plans for the future?

To help the companies I work with to be as successful as possible and achieve all their goals. Personally to also keep working with interesting and positive projects, and to feature and learn more about green tech and renewable energy to help us all go off the grid.

What will you be talking about at this event?

To share as many useful insights as possible around how to effectively communicate and capture relevant investors attention. It is important to clearly explain what you are doing, why you are doing it, and how you plan to execute on your plans. So many crowd funding campaigns fail to get the basics right. Let alone the more subtle and sophisticated things that they can do well to differentiate themselves too.

What inspired you to attend it?

I am a big fan of many of the other speakers, and actively worked to encourage them to attend and speak at it in my role as speaker curator. I am now looking forward to catching up with as many of them in person as possible. I have also never been to Monaco before either, so what is not to like!

Which influencers and websites do you follow to keep up to date with the latest developments?

Irish Tech News of course, but also Cryptocoin.News, Coin Telegraph, BBC, and and many more too. It is important to get your news from as wide a range of sources as possible. Confirmation bias is as dangerous as fake news.

How can people find out more about what you are working on?

Follow me on Twitter and Linkedin, if I have anything worth saying or sharing that is where I will post it.

How can you find out more about the event?

The Monaco Blockchain Masterclass being held in Monte Carlo, Monaco on May 31st 2019 brings together 100+ leading investors, funds and family offices to discuss Blockchain not just as a technology but as an investment opportunity. The event will help Investors, Funds and Family Offices gain a much deeper insight into this technology and its potential. Learn and discuss with speakers and guests who are already invested into the Blockchain sector to a collective $250 Million as to what, how and why when it comes to Blockchain investments.

Alastair Lidel, Founder of ‘The Block’ – a financial events company based in London says “Unless you have had your head buried in the sand you have most certainly heard about Blockchain. The Monaco Blockchain Conference allows Investors, Funds and Family Offices the chance to come and learn from their peers about Blockchain investment. In a time where companies such as JP Morgan, American Express, Disney and National Governments are all adopting Blockchain Technology at an extremely rapid rate it is imperative for anyone in the investment world to get a much clearer understanding of this technology and this event will help you to do that.”

The One-Day conference will have speakers from leading Investment Funds discussing what they look for in a Blockchain project. How you can begin to develop into the space and optional routes of market entry. The aim of this event is for you to leave with a wealth of knowledge and as we all know ‘Knowledge is Power.’

As well as world expert speakers we will be providing a gourmet lunch, Champagne Networking and a Cocktail Party at the luxurious Twiga Club in Monte Carlo with an open bar to ensure guests have all the time they need to discuss and connect in a relaxed setting – All included in your All Inclusive ticket.
