When and where is it on?

This free event will take place on Wednesday, March 25th at 8:00 PM EST, 5:00 PM PST. It will be hosted online by Island Innovation and you can register for it at this link: http://bit.ly/virtualeventtraining

What was the inspiration to start it?

The inspiration for this particular event has been the recent influx of
enquiries from individuals, businesses and organisations who are looking at how to successfully run their own virtual event, due to the
significant changes brought about by the COVID-19 global pandemic.

Last year Island Innovation ran a very successful virtual event called
Virtual Island Summit (https://www.islandinnovation.co/summit/) with
4,000 participants. In September we will be hosting the next Virtual
Island Summit and we are anticipating this to be even more successful.
We will be using the substantial knowledge and experience gained from
that event, to help you to learn how to create your own virtual event.

What exciting things can people look forward to?

This event will be packed with lots of valuable information including
tips on hosting virtual events, which platform to use, how best to
create a community, how to keep your audience engaged, and how to
recreate that in-person networking experience you get at a typical
in-person event online.

What opportunities are on offer for those attending?

This webinar offers a fantastic opportunity to learn from Island
Innovation founder James Ellsmoor about how to host your own virtual
event. James has substantial experience in this field, including hosting
the first Virtual Island Summit with 4,000 participants in 2019. Those
attending will have the opportunity to connect with James and ask
further questions after the event has ended.

Who will be speaking?

The speaker at this event will be James Ellsmoor. James is a social
entrepreneur with a key focus on renewable energy and sustainable
development for remote, rural and island communities. He is the founder of Island Innovation (consulting agency), co-founder of Solar Head of State (NGO) and a regular contributor for Forbes. He is a digital nomad, living location independently and travelling worldwide while using his laptop to connect to clients.

Originally from the UK, he has lived, worked and travelled in over 60 countries on all the continents except Antarctica! Now, he specializes in the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for Small Island Developing States (SIDS) such as the Caribbean and Pacific Islands. In the process, he brings together governments, NGOs, universities and the private sector to accelerate the transition to clean energy.

What tips would you give to people attending to get the most out of it?

To help get the best out of this event, make sure to stay engaged and
attentive throughout, as there will be many fantastic tips given from
start to finish. Make sure to write down as much of this advice as you
can, so you can use it when you are creating your own virtual event.

While watching the webinar, try to also imagine how your own virtual
event will look and feel; as you will see during this event, virtual
events can be just as interesting, engaging and entertaining as an
in-person event, and right now will be extremely valuable to your
business or organisation.

It is the tips that you will learn during this webinar that can really make the difference to how your own event turns out! Make sure to also write down any further follow-up questions you may have, as you can then contact James later after the event has ended.
