High performance, hard metal machining, 11th, 12th, September, National Science Park, Mullingar

When and where is it on?

11th and 12th of September in Mullingar (Irish Manufacturing Research AM Lab, National Science Park, Dublin Road, Mullingar Co. Westmeath N91 TX80

How many years has it been going?

This is the first year of the event

What was the inspiration to start it?

IMR has built a number of partnerships with machining OEMs in the last year, now we’re looking to take these resources and use them to help the Irish machining industry to win new business in the area of hard metal high end machining.

What exciting things can people look forward to?

People will be able to get hands on with the hardware in Mullingar, this includes Haimer’s suit of tool balancing, pre-setting and shrink fit tooling equipment as well a Hermle C42UMT 5 axis Mill/Turn machining center.

What opportunities are on offer for those attending?

On the day we’ll be presenting an end to end work flow for companies looking to get into hard metal machining, from tooling and work holding through to in process measurements and the machine tool itself. Attendees will have the opportunity to see this work flow in action with live machining, tooling pre-setting and in process measurement demos taking place on the day.

Who will be speaking?

There will be demonstrations and presentations from Autodesk, Renishaw, Haimer, IMR, Kingsbury, Lang and Machining 4.0

What tips would you give to people attending to get the most out of it?

The event is split into two days, one aimed at machining for the aerospace industry and the other aimed at the medical device industry. So people should make sure to attend whichever day is of most interest to them. Of course they are more than welcome to attend both days.

How can people book tickets / when does it usually sell out?
