HBAN to host Introductory Business Angel Investing Seminar in Cork

HBAN, the Halo Business Angel Network, has announced it will host an Introductory Business Angel Investing seminar at the Maryborough House Hotel, Douglas, Cork, Thursday 30th April from 6.30pm.

The seminar will feature a panel session and networking opportunities with members of the Cork based Boole Investment syndicate. The syndicate has invested almost €2 million in innovative start-ups over the past three years.

If you have ever thought about business angel investing but don’t know where to start, this seminar will provide you with information on how to support and invest in some of Ireland’s most innovative start-ups, as well as the opportunity to network with experienced business angel investors from the Boole Investment syndicate.

Panellists include Shemas Eivers, chairperson of the Boole Investment Syndicate, who has many years’ experience in business angel investing. Shemas is also chairman of the National Software Campus (NSC) in Cork, and managing partner at Avnet Client Solutions. Bruce Clibborn and Brian Clune, both investors of the Boole Investor Syndicate with special interests in IT, Med Devices, Food & AgriTech start-up companies that have the potential to scale, will also speak at the event.

Attendees will have the opportunity to put questions to the panel, who have had input into 16 deals over the past three years.

These deals include Cork-based start-ups, such as Veronica’s Snacks, a healthy snack food company, Treemetrics, a software company providing pioneering solutions for the global forest industry and Incereb, a medical device company which monitors electrical activity in the brains of newborns. Jim Roche, CEO and founder of Incereb, will be present on the night to discuss his experience as an entrepreneur raising investment for his company.

Attendees will discover how business angel investing works, what it means for young companies and entrepreneurs, and hear from experienced investors on how they managed their portfolio to share the risk of investment.
