After several consecutive quarters of decline, it now looks like the PC industry may be bottoming out. Experiencing its smallest loss since Q2 2012, PC shipments declined by just 1.7% in the first quarter of this year.
Possibly somewhat fuelled by people finally upgrading from their creaking XP machines, the trend still shows the decline decreasing over the last twelve months.
Whether this trend continues remains to be seen as sales of tablets and smartphones continue grow but it certainly seems like the PC industry is now finding its new level.
