Greek Food Corridors and its Mission E-Auctioning the Olive Oil and Fruit & Vegetable Market through Blockchain

Greek Food Corridors E-AUCTIONS in Greece: We are creating an e-auction platform for fruit, vegetables and olive oil and networking it with the production & consumption sites to enable farmers and growers to sell their produce in a coordinated and fair manner.                                                                     .

The aim of the project is to achieve the automation of the Agricultural Greek market through a modern electronic Trading infrastructure export-oriented at European standards, by organizing & coordinating the market and creating transparency, speed and trust.                                         .

We are transforming the way the Agri-market operates in Greece, bringing the producer closer to the buyer through technological innovation and enhancing collaboration schemes and strong knowledge exchange.

Challenges in the Current Market

There is a strong need for innovation & collaboration in the Agriculture sector in Greece.

Greek producers are small in economic strength, numerous and uncoordinated, and are unable to define the prices of agricultural products. They are not price-makers but price recipients in the hands of a small number of businesses at a monopoly level who are pricing according to their interests. Thus, the prices paid by consumers are often 4-6 times higher than the prices received by the producers.

Challenges GFC E-Auctions will Solve

For many years, the Greek Primary sector shows low competitiveness due to the high production costs and weaknesses in the standardization, handling and marketing of agricultural products. Structural interventions are needed in production and promotion technology level, increasing standardization, and changing the way collectivity’s and group of producers (GP) are operating to cover 50% of the agricultural production, instead of only one fifth today.

These weaknesses will be cured by GFC E-Auctions

GFC aims to change the trading conditions at the benefit of the growers and the consumers by increasing the added value of Greek produces and by establishing a leading position in the Greek Agricultural markets, with key elements innovation, guarantee of transactions, quality control, trust, automation in the supply chain, transparency, and the continuous upgrading of know-how and the services offered.

GFC e-auction platform will be a huge step to empower Greek farmers. Traders will bid online from anywhere in the world and farmers & farmer’s association will have secure a fair price for their products. This will lead to “scientific” price discovery by the farmers themselves, breaking the hold of middlemen.

GFC is a unique project in Greece now, bringing a real revolution for the Greek primary market. No other ICO is offering an e-auction platform for vegetables, Fruits & olive oil, nor has any e-auction networked with the production & consumption sites been implemented in Greece.

From that stand point, you could say that opportunity is here.

With a customer base that spreads worldwide, there is no doubt that GFC project & token will be a worthy long-term contribution.
