goldenpages.ie, Ireland’s No.1 Local Search Directory has launched ShopNow, a fully-featured online storefront to help local businesses sell products and services on any website and platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Google Shopping & goldenpages.ie.
Originally set to launch in Q3 2020, ShopNow was fast tracked as part of the goldenpages.ie COVID-19 support package to enable businesses to reach their customers online and is available free until 31st July.
Jade O’Connor, VP of Product & Marketing of FCR Media Ireland, the firm behind goldenpages.ie, said, “According to the latest figures from the CSO, there are 248,344 Small Medium & Enterprises active in Ireland and only 32% can take an online sale*. The ability to trade online is becoming increasingly important with the impact of COVID-19 as customers change how they interact with businesses across Ireland. We are proud to be able to launch a new initiative to support Irish companies as they deal with the current restrictions and question how they will operate going forward as we come out of lockdown. Our business is committed to backing local businesses in Ireland.”
This support package aims to help local businesses throughout Ireland, many affected by Covid-19 crisis, to offer their products & services online quickly and with no additional expense. After the 31st of July, businesses will have a choice to close the online store or continue with a monthly plan. Plans range from €18 to €36 per month + 23% VAT)
In 1999, goldenpages.ie launched Ireland’s first comprehensive online directory of business and residential telephone listings. The physical book was discontinued but the growing necessity of having an online presence has resulted in over 145,000 local Irish businesses listed on goldenpages.ie with contact, web and service details. Today it is a vital part of Ireland’s local search ecosystem and continues to innovate as search trends, devices and technology evolve. Nowadays, goldenpages.ie is part of a product family offering a full-service range of online solutions for small businesses, including, e-commerce & website solutions, search marketing, local search optimisation, 360 virtual tours and VR solutions.
O’Connor added, “Since launching, we are already seeing a great uptake from a wide range of businesses who are exploring digital avenues to promote their products and services, such as restaurants, accountants, service companies & tradesmen, activity providers, beauty & health professionals.”
