When and where is it on?

The members of the Global Investment Leaders Club, which consist of leaders of the investment industry, will hold their next meeting within Special Private Investment Forum Worldwide on 26th of February 2020 in the iconic Burj Al Arab hotel, Dubai, UAE.

How many years has it been going?

The Private Investment Forum Worldwide has been carrying out for four years starting from 2016. Nine events have already successfully taken place in various financial capitals of the world, such as Malta, Dubai, Zurich and Monaco ahead.

What was the inspiration to start it?

The inspiration started growing after the financial crisis in 2008. We wanted to create a unique tool which would allow always to keep your business profitable and have an unbeatable competitive advantage at all times. The thing is that before the crisis each leader considered his number of connections as sufficient, but after the most critical period of crisis, with following stagnation and recession, the majority of companies (more than 80% in 2008) sank into a huge loss and bankruptcy.

Therefore, the number of effective personal connections has reduced in 5-10 times during the crisis. And the remaining personal connections were not sufficient to sustain efficient production, trade and attract finding.

We studied the analysis of companies that not only went through the 2008 financial crisis without any losses but also strengthen their market positions in the post-crisis time. This report showed that those companies had the tenfold number of strong personal contacts (with the top management of key suppliers, buyers and investors) compared to the average number of connections other companies had.

It was their advantage, the tenfold advantage. ‘Wow, this is the key’, we thought and took on developing this idea to the Private Investment Forum Worldwide as we know today. And today we can say that we’ve created a unique solution, which effectively resolves the issue concerning additional financial recourses, partnership and the source of relevant information for businessmen and investors from any industries.

What exciting things can people look forward to?

First of all, to an innovative and effective model of elite business networking. We do not have speakers, panels or workshops whatsoever. Instead, people have a day full of fruitful meetings with the right people and have the full support of our assistants who help them to find their counterparts and personally introduce them to each other. During one Forum, each participant has up to 75 personal (!) meetings and negotiations with investors and business owners.

Plus, we give an opportunity to the chosen business projects to be presented to investors on stage with following one-to-one meetings. For example, during VIII Private Investment Forum Worldwide, the personal meeting of the CEOs from FINCASA CAPITAL (UAE) and Carhor Enterprises (Mexico) resulted in a $100 million deal. A comfortable and friendly atmosphere of their private meeting allowed business leaders to discuss a potential deal in great detail and seal it in soon afterwards.

Plenty of opportunities are provided by the exclusive ‘Connecting Leaders’ app, which is largely used by the thousands of investors and business owners, as well as promising startups for scheduling personal meetings between them and interacting with each other. And it the only place where startups can send information about their projects directly to investors, receive feedback from them and have an opportunity to meet them afterwards.

Who will be speaking?

We do not have speakers or panel discussions. We have a Round table discussion at the beginning of the Forum where investors discuss important investment matters or trends. After that, all the time (what is 80% of the Forum) is dedicated to one-to-one meetings between participants, during the session of prescheduled beforehand meetings and during the Investment Club Lounge Zone where participants are introduced to each other by the organizers accordingly to their interests.

What tips would you give to people attending to get the most out of it?

That it is not enough just having the business card of a partner. At a critical moment, all that matters are really strong bonds that have been built on mutual trust, comprehension and communication history. So, be open, be genuine in your interest to your business partner and establish a true connection rather than just collecting business cards and pitching your project. We have created a special format of acquaintance-making, but it won’t happen without your energy.

How can people book tickets / when does it usually sell out?

To participate, you need to download the ‘Connecting Leaders’ app, create your profile, choose an event which you’d like to take part in and send a request to participate. If you head a project, company or a startup, you can receive an official invitation from the Organising Committee.

The cost of the participation varies from $10,000-15,000, nevertheless, if you have five investors interested in your project, then the Organising Committee can provide you with a complimentary invitation.

How can you get the investors interested even before the Forum? For this purpose, a special service ‘Offers’ has been developed in the ‘Connecting Leaders’ app. This service allows the heads of a project, company or a startup to send information about their projects directly to investors and receive their meeting requests.
