When and where is it on?

The Get Mobile event is co-organised by the Irish Institute of Digital Business (IIDB) and DCU Business School and hosted by Talent Garden Dublin in DCU Alpha Campus. The event will run from 2pm to 6pm on the 3rd of March 2020.

How many years has it been going?

This event is part of our GET Series that has been running since 2014.

What was the inspiration to start it?

The inspiration for GET Mobile 2020 came from the changing work and skills landscape. Organisations are relying more and more on remote working and this has a number of implications both for employees and employers.

What opportunities are on offer for those attending?

The main objective of the event is to provide attendees with a clear idea of what it means to be a remote worker or to managed a remote team. While most of the attention is typically focussed on the positive implications of remote working, our speakers will also share their insights on potential challenges that need to be considered.

Who will be speaking?

The list of confirmed speakers include:

Lisa Van der Werff (IIDB/ DCU Business School)
Vanessa Tierney (Abodoo)
Michaela O’Leary (Talent Garden)
Mike Hynes (NUI Galway)
Edel Conway (IIDB/ DCU Business School)
Paul Ellingstad (Grow Remote)
Karl O’Connor (CIPD Trainer and Coach)

We also have other speakers to be confirmed in the next few days. The most up-to-date list of speakers is available at the following link: https://getmobile.iidb.ie/speakers/

What tips would you give to people attending to get the most out of it?

Our events are usually very interactive and our speakers are always willing to honestly share their opinions and experience. Take the opportunity to interact with them during Q&A sessions and networking breaks.

How can people book tickets / when does it usually sell out?

The event is free but seats are limited. Half of the tickets are gone already so we would recommend to reserve tickets ASAP at the following link: https://getmobile.iidb.ie/register/

Anything else you’d like to add / we should have asked?

It will be possible to follow the main highlights of the event via Twitter using the hashtag #GETMobile2020.
