GemPool Business Showcase profile

How are you different?

At GemPool, we pride ourselves on having very well-connected consultants. Since our formation in 2003, we’ve always focused on training our consultants with network-building at its core. As a result, we’re able to offer an excellent candidate base.

More recently, we have put a major focus on diversity and inclusion, adding a specific consultant to our team to focus on this extremely important area within the Irish recruitment sector.

 Why will you do well?

We believe in being completely transparent with both our candidates and clients. This transparency has helped us provide our key stakeholders with a clearer picture of what to expect throughout each stage of our various recruitment processes and has helped us deliver our services in the best possible way.

Coupled with our industry expertise, this transparency tied in with consistent communication and support, has helped us create a powerful brand based on strong, mutually-beneficial and long-lasting relationships with our clients and candidates alike.

Where are you based?

We are based out of our offices in Blackrock in Dublin. Of course, for the time being, the team is working completely remotely from the safety of our homes in line with Government protocol.

When was the company launched?

Our company, previously known as Vero Solutions was founded on 12th November, 2003 and re-branded to GemPool in 2011.

What have been your biggest wins to date?

GemPool prides itself on delivering both for career candidates and our employer clients alike.

Today, we’re in the fortunate position of working with some of the largest tech companies in the world, forging the kinds of partnerships other recruitment companies could only dream of.

We’ve achieved this through our consistent and transparent recruiting style. Our biggest win to date is hiring over 50 skilled Data Center Technicians in the space of 14 days for a key customer of ours.

This success was followed by another volume task of hiring 11 skilled Software Developers between Christmas Eve and New Year’s Day in 2020/2021 during an extremely difficult period due to Covid-19.

Who are you trying to attract to your product?

Our dedicated IT recruitment platform is looking to attract tech employers across Ireland who are looking for specialist IT recruiters to help build their Software Development, IT Infrastructure and Data Centre teams.

At the same time, we’re also looking to expand our ‘gem pool’ and always welcome top IT talent across Ireland to come and register with us, so that we’re able to help connect them with ideal job opportunities.

What tips would you give to others looking to build their business?

Building a business is about providing solutions. The best way to provide a solution is to be an expert in your field of choice.

Once you have identified that solution, it’s time to build credibility by delivering transformational results and building on the integral foundations that make you stand out in your space.

Always be true to yourself and your customers and take each failure along the way as a moment to learn from and grow through.

Tell us about your team?

GemPool is a specific IT recruitment company with 2 main focuses, Data Center, IT Infrastructure and Software Engineering catering to the SaaS space. Our growing team is headed by Robert Hourie & Michael Lantry.

Through hard-word and dedication our team strives to deliver the best recruitment experience on all fronts.

What are your plans for the future?

For close to 20 years, GemPool has built a steady, lasting business. Today, GemPool is one of the largest IT Recruitment companies in Ireland, as well as building on our already solid foundation in Ireland, we plan on expanding our Data Center Recruitment solutions business into the EU and USA.

Anything else you’d like to add/we should have asked?

What’s the added benefit of working with GemPool?

Our commitment to both job seekers and companies remains one of the strongest in the sector.

As we expand our general recruitment efforts, we try to deliver more value to our customers by generating consistent and relevant market insights, which we publish on our career insights page.

One of the most popular content pieces amongst both employers and talent is our 2021 Information Technology Salary Guide, Ireland. This particular piece of content has helped provide valuable information to those seeking to hire and those looking for new opportunities – and it’s free to download!

How do people get in touch with you?
