We spoke with the organisers of FutureScope to find out what we can expect from this year’s event and to find out why you should attend!
Can you explain to our readers what FutureScope is?
FutureScope is Ireland’s number one innovation event and the only conference dedicated to exploring new business opportunities arising from emerging technologies such as AI, data analytics, AR/VR, IoT and 5G.
When and where does it take place?
FutureScope 2019 will take place on Thursday, 28th March in the Convention Centre Dublin.
How many years has it been running?
Now in its sixth year, FutureScope, organised by Dublin BIC, the organisation that provides investor ready preparation, access to finance and incubation space to start-ups and scale-ups.
What can people expect at this year’s event?
FutureScope puts the spotlight on the key emerging technologies and the impact of these for business. People walk away from a day spent at FutureScope with a real sense of what’s coming down the track and where the opportunities lie for their business. Through keynotes, panel discussions, workshops, tech demonstrations, innovation showcases and structured networking, FutureScope offers the perfect platform for identifying mutually beneficial collaborative partnerships.
Content at FutureScope is delivered across four stages, each with a specific purpose:
– Insights Stage: Provides attendees with insightful perspectives on emerging technologies and how they will shape our future world
– Collaboration Stage: Showcases examples of collaboration within the tech, business and research communities and identifies new opportunities for business growth through collaboration
– Innovation Stage: Showcases and promotes the smartest innovations and how they are being applied to fuel business growth
– Entrepreneurship Stage: Identifies business opportunities and funding options, shares knowledge, insights, tools and techniques to empower entrepreneurs to start and scale. Features the FutureScope One2Watch 2019 pitch battle.
There will be a host of other options for attendees from a Creativity Meets Technology Track and Future Tech Showcase to a Learn to Code Workshop.
Who do you think will benefit most from attending?
Anyone who feels that technology, innovation, collaboration or an enhanced network will help them realise their business ambitions. A special emphasis is placed on purposeful networking and the creation of collaboration opportunities for start-ups, scale-ups, multinational companies, innovative Irish enterprise, the research community and investors.
Who will be speaking at the event?
FutureScope 2019 will host 100+ speakers and panellists. The brightest innovators, most active collaborators and most seasoned business leaders will take to the stage including some of Ireland’s most successful and most promising entrepreneurs, including; Bobby Healy founder of CarTrawler which services one billion passengers annually; Anne Heraty CEO of CPL; Jim Joyce, HealthBeacon, the second-round entrepreneur that recently raised €12m; Gavin Walsh, iCabbi; Fergal Brady, Blueface, now a leader in global unified communications, Ronan Perceval, Phorest and Garry Moroney, who recently sold Clavis Insights for over €100m.
