This year we have teamed up with the Edtech Podcast and Ovum and we have invested 100 hours of research to establish the hottest topics and the key challenges faced by the 21st century University, to bring you the best agenda possible for 2019.

When and where is it on?

11-12 June at the Inmarsat in London (part of London Tech Week)

How many years has it been going?

2019 is the 5th year

What was the inspiration to start it?

The growing need for universities to evolve in the digital era

What exciting things can people look forward to?

Exciting topics on this year’s agenda:

  • How can blockchain enhance student opportunity
  • Teaching and learning reimagined – looking at new tech including:
  • What happens when you use voice recognition and VR technology to teach across languages, robotics, & architecture?
  • What happens when you offer live lectures via hologram?
  • Is the new University a subscription service?
  • Student panel
  • Private VC lunch briefing

What opportunities are on offer for those attending?

For those looking to implement change, best practice, understanding needs, technologies available, long term strategies and an open discussion with others in their shoes

Who will be speaking?

We are currently recruiting speakers – here is a link to the 2018 speakers for a better understanding > https://tmt.knect365.com/future-edtech/

What tips would you give to people attending to get the most out of it?

Go to everything and take advantage of the networking opportunities, particularly the app
Always go to events like this with key objectives, see who is attending, what they are doing (in their Universities / technology initiatives) that might be of real interest to you and pre-arrange a meeting / try to meet them on site
Always put a photo on your profile in the app so people know who to approach on site!

How can people book tickets / when does it usually sell out?

Tickets are available now up until the event (11 June) on the website. There are two types of tickets:

  1. Free tickets for Universities
  2. Solutions provider delegate passes – we are currently offering 30% off the final rate so it’s a real saving to book early
  3. Alternatively, providers often take a stand, demo area / speaking position to give real insight into their products

Anything else you’d like to add / we should have asked?

We are looking for cutting edge technologies and futuristic initiatives that are currently being implemented in higher education, however big or small and we just want to encourage those change makers to unite across the two days to drive the wider higher education sector forwards and share their stories. Whilst the education sector is facing difficult times in the current climate (increasing fees, competition internationally, alternatives available for prospects) this event is an opportunity to a) understand what/where change is needed b) understand the technologies available and c) understand how to implement the technologies / initiatives
