They say data is the new oil, well if that is the case IDC-Intell provide the oil rigs and software which mine the most valuable data you can get: What your customers are thinking!!

IDC-Intell install fully automated touch screen kiosks which carryout bespoke customer surveys and reward the customers for completing them with rewards from certain retailers in shopping centres.

How are you different?

IDC-Intell have a 5 pronged approach which benefit our clients like so: Our fully automated touch screen kiosks engage with customers, the kiosks capture ANY customer data through bespoke surveys, they reward customers for completing the surveys, the kiosks drive footfall and sales to specific tenants at specific times through the rewards allocated and they provide that all important R.O.I to the tenants through detailed reports available in real time.

Why will the company / product do well?

In a time when customer engagement, customer insights / data and customer loyalty are the buzz words IDC-Intell can provide all this and more all from one easy to use platform. Our services are more cost effective and results driven than any other methods currently available.

Where are you based, how is the broadband? How long will you stay there?

IDC-Intell is strategically placed in Newry half way between Belfast and Dublin giving us easy access to clients throughout Ireland and the UK. As IDC-Intell plan for major growth over the next 12 – 18 months it is envisaged that we will stay in Newry as our headquarters but will look to grow additional offices throughout the UK & Ireland before targeting America and Europe for future growth. The broadband speed where we are isn’t too band @ 20mb/s it’s enough for us at the minute.

When was the company launched?

The company started off as a different concept in 2012 and after listening to what our customers needed more than anything IDC-Intell was Launched in late 2014.

What have been your biggest wins to date?

  • Being accepted on to Invest NI’s flagship accelerator programme “Propel” which was for the top 30 global scalable businesses in N.I.
  • Getting our first shopping centre under our belt which had 4000 interactions in a 20 day period capturing 700 customers thoughts and contact details.
  • Securing 4 additional centres launching in June / July 2015 and having a very healthy growing pipeline.

What type of people are you trying to attract to your product?

At the minute our primary customers are shopping centres carrying on from the success IDC-Intell achieved in our initial launch shopping centre. IDC-Intell are also in discussions with several Airports and in the future plan to target  Ferry crossings, train stations, football stadiums as well as large brand retailers.

Tell us about your team?

Peter McCaul C.E.O & Founder comes from a hospitality background having managed bars and restaurants for over 10 years in San Francisco, Sydney and Ireland before owing his own Bar & Restaurant The Brass Monkey in Newry. Having had the initial idea for the business back in 2011 he secured seed investment and the backing of Invest NI to develop the software which would evolve into IDC-Intell. Peter is the driving force behind the day to day running of the business and implementing all future growth plans.

Jim Finnegan is a cofounder of the business. Jim has experience in starting his own business having grown another company over 15 years to be a leading O2 partner in the UK. Jim is instrumental in building up strategic partnerships throughout the UK and Ireland and in ensuring the continued growth in the business.

IDC-Intell also has a junior staff of developers and an installation engineer.

What are you long term plans for your product / company?

IDC-Intell have plans for the future to grow our brand and team in Ireland and the UK before establishing offices in Europe and America. Plans for future software development are in place enabling IDC-Intell to continuously offer something new and beneficial to our clients.

What are your favourite tech gadgets?

I’ll try not to state the obvious. I really like my google chrome cast device which is very handy for displaying information on a TV for multiple people to view.

What tech gadgets do you wish you could use to help you?

A cloning device would be excellent and solve so many problems enabling me to get so much more done a lot faster.
