Flipdish rolls out table ordering solution for restaurants re-opening

Flipdish, the Irish digital food-ordering solution for independent eateries, has launched a new table ordering system for restaurants reopening in Ireland this week.

The new technology, which allows restaurants to meet new social distancing and hygiene requirements, lets customers order and pay directly from their smartphone or a table-top tablet while avoiding (potentially virus and germ-carrying) menus and limiting interaction with waiting staff.

Table ordering, which is suitable for all restaurants, cafes, pubs, beer gardens, hotels and takeaways reopening their doors today and in the coming weeks, can be set up in minutes and integrated with existing point of sale systems.

Flipdish Table Ordering is offered via a mobile app or mobile-optimized website on the customer’s phone, or through a table-top tablet provided by the restaurant. A QR code placed on the table can bring the customer directly to the restaurant’s online menu.

The use of technology can dramatically increase operational efficiency, reducing the need for staff to walk around, take orders and handle payments. It also improves the customer experience as they no longer need to wait for a staff member to be available to allow them to take their order or take payment.

There are options for all types of businesses as they reopen – bars, restaurants, cafe’s, hotels or pubs. In addition to placing their main food and beverage selections, with table ordering, customers will be able to order additional items whenever and as often as they like while in the venue without ever needing to interact with staff members. The platform also allows for special requests and ingredient substitutions.
