FinTECHTalents takes place, London, 11th, 13th November

When and where is it on?

The Festival takes place at Printworks Surrey Quays Rd, London SE16 7PJ on the 11-13th November.

How many years has it been going?

This is year two for the Festival and we are thrilled to be growing and expanding this year with the addition of our new Discovery Day. AITECHTalents, CyberTECHTalents and RegTECHTalents will all run on the Discovery Day.

FinTECHTalents takes place, London

What was the inspiration to start it?

We felt that the old model for fintech /financial services conferences just wasn’t’ delivering value to the ecosystem and we wanted to shake things up. You will often find the team saying that the ‘event only experience is dead’. We feel communities deliver knowledge and business results but that sitting in a conference hall two or three days a year wasn’t enough. We engage with our community year round though content, bespoke, targeted events and yes, through large shindigs as well.

We also open our doors to around 500 students, who come to us through our partnerships with over 25 Universities. The idea is to allow this pool of future talent and future innovators access to an industry event. We are not a careers fair but we did want to provide an opportunity for the financial services industry to showcase itself to the next generation of talent and demonstrate the ways in which the industry is changing and the driving role of technology in the evolution of the industry.

We recognize that the broad range of digital skills required are in short supply and are in demand across many industries and wanted to open minds about a future career in financial services, whether that is in a start-up, an incumbent institution or as an entrepreneur.

What exciting things can people look forward to?

We felt that the typical event needed rethinking and that better experiences, lead to better engagement. We decided on a Festival format – complete with craft beer sessions and live music.

People can look forward to:

  • 3000 Festival goers
  • Over 1500 innovation leaders in attendance representing 400+ financial services institutions
  • A Festival exhibition floor with 80+ exhibitors, featuring the top technology companies in the market today
  • Over 500 computer science, design and business students representing the top university programmes in the world
  • 50+ hours of content sessions including workshops, round-tables, live tech demos as well as craft beer and live music sessions to soundtrack your Festival experience

What opportunities are on offer for those attending?

In addition to fantastic content exploring tech trends, the future of the industry, the role of collaboration and partnerships, culture & diversity, there will be loads of music, craft beer, art exhibits and networking opportunities.

Who will be speaking?

We are in the process of confirming an amazing line up of speakers from across out community. We have a very large number of innovation leads from across the financial services sector who participate, as well as cutting edge technologists. We also benefit from the input of a vey impressive Steering Committee.

What tips would you give to people attending to get the most out of it?

Use the APP, enjoy the content and try the craft beer!

How can people book tickets / when does it usually sell out?

People can book tickets through the FinTECHTalents website. We currently have our Brexit Bird discount running until the 31st October which means you can save up to £400 on ticket prices.
