When and where is it on?
FinTECHtalents 2018 will be running in London’s Olympic Part, on 30 and 31 October. We are expecting around 2,000 participants.
How many years has it been going?
We are incredibly excited to be launching this year although it is the culmination of many months of planning and hard work.
What was the inspiration to start it?
We were inspired by a great many things. We are passionate about fintech and the digitisation of so many industries. It’s hard not to get excited about the ways in technology creates the opportunity to do things in new and better ways; delivering better outcomes to individuals and businesses alike. There is a real opportunity to build on some important successes in fintech and financial services more broadly, and access to a pipeline of technically proficient labour is key to achieving and sustaining a cutting-edge and world leading industry. We didn’t see that important part of the ecosystem represented at any other events. Talent drives innovation.
What exciting things can people look forward to?
Lots of exciting tech from across the ecosystem – start-ups, financial institutions, leading tech providers, students, researchers and academics. Key insights from thought leaders and policy-makers. Plus, craft beer and live music; in our view the perfect combination. We wanted to create something that set us apart from the boring old conference format so we’ve really focused on creating a great experience as well. We are also creating a future tech zone with some hands-on demonstrations.
What opportunities are on offer for those attending?
In addition to catching sight of the latest in financial services innovation from the entire ecosystem, it is the perfect opportunity to connect with the talent of today and tomorrow. Technology and innovation is driven by people with great ideas and we want to help support that development.
Who will be speaking?
We will have representation from FIs, fintechs, academia (including some impressive students), government and leading tech innovators – watch this space as we make some exciting announcements over the coming weeks.
What tips would you give to people attending to get the most out of it?
Come for the tech and stay for the experience. Learn about the latest in financial services & technology whilst having a great time.
