1 min pitch for what you are doing now?
I am a member of the investment team at Frontline Ventures. We are a B2B and enterprise focused software fund investing at the Seed stage, typically making an initial investment of €100-1.5m
How was the last year, what worked well, what didn’t move as quickly as you would have liked?
Typically most companies struggle with customer acquisition. At the low end, small customers who require to much hand holding or at the large end companies taking too long to (1-2 years) to close big deals.
What are your plans for the future?
Frontline makes about in 1 investment per month. In 5 years we will have invested in 100+ world beating enterprise SaaS companies. We will have been the first money in several €500m+ companies. There is a virtuous circle, as success attracts success.
What will you be talking about at this event?
FinTech is absolutely on fire in 2017. Volumes in online lending having more than doubled in two years, there has been an unbelievable amount of M&A in payments, and a number of startups are taking on global banks in an unprecedented fashion (and winning!). Its a very exciting time.
What inspired you to attend it?
We love FinTech and especially FinTech in Ireland.
