The Fintech and Payments Association (FPAI) Launches its inaugural Conference – IRELAND – THE FINTECH NATION #fintechnation

FPAI is pleased to announce the launch of its inaugural conference showcasing the Irish FinTech and Payments Industry.

The FPAI representing FinTech and payments business in Ireland to develop the regulatory, commercial and community ecosystem in which they operate, are hosting the biggest FinTech event ever held in Ireland on Thursday April 14th 2016 in Dublin’s Silicon Docks.

FinTech in its broadest articulation comprises every area of technology and innovation in the financial services arena, from payments, trading and FX, big data, risk, compliance and business intelligence to consumer-focused currency exchanges and peer to peer lenders.

In Ireland we have a deep heritage in growing financial services businesses in the International Financial Services Centre and an equally strong history in establishing and scaling Irish technology companies focused on foreign markets.

The event will cover a variety of topics with expert speakers and sponsors from Irish FinTech. Everyone involved in the sector – banks, payment processors, payment and e-money institutions, start-ups, public sector, government departments, IDA, EI, regulator, academics, legal advisors, professional services, and software providers – all based in or from Ireland will be in attendance at this one-day event.

Colm Lyon, Chairman of the FPAI, CEO of Fire Financial Services Limited and also founder and former CEO of Realex Payments, who will be speaking at the inaugural event in April, commented: “The association has come about as numerous people across the Fintech and payments industry have realised we have a superb competence and experience in the sector. This event is a great opportunity for all those involved to meet and exchange views on the many advances and issues impacting fintech in Ireland”.

The launch event conference will be held at the Marker Hotel, Grand Canal Dock on Thursday 14 April, kicking off at 8.00am with a networking breakfast. Early bird tickets are available until the 1st April and cost €190 per person. The speakers and panel participants represent the full FinTech sector from early-stage startups to Tier 1 Institutions and Regulatory bodies. Detailed agenda will be released at a further date.

The event is open to anyone with an interest in FinTech in Ireland. For details of how to register or take part see here.
