Find out what the future holds for Ireland’s smart transportation community, September 6th

Shaping the future of Ireland’s public transport system – AIT spearheading autonomous electric pods to reduce private car ownership

Ireland’s strides towards introducing a national fleet of autonomous electric vehicles.  A team of researchers in our Software Research Institute and  Enterprise Ireland-funded Technology Gateway COMAND are spearheading the charge in making this a reality. We’re holding a round table discussion on September 6th which members of the public, representatives from industry and the wider Irish ‘smart transportation’ community are invited to attend to discuss prototyping and testing these vehicles for short duration trips and non-occupant ‘roving’ for Ireland’s new national transport service.
If successful, these electric pods will support Ireland’s public transport system while reducing private car ownership. Outputs from this workshop will feed into a significant proposal we are leading for Science Foundation Ireland’s brand new ‘Zero Emissions Challenge’ funding call. I’ve included information on the workshop agenda below. I’d be delighted to arrange interviews with our ‘Societal Impact Champion’ from industry who will be overseeing the project.

Workshop Agenda
