Google Maps and local guides, are your key to discover new secrets of your home country, find hidden gems, and refresh old memories.

With the country re-opened, it is your chance to explore and re-discover Ireland.

Explore with Local Guides

Local Guides is a passionate community and can accumulate the wisdom of local experts to enhance your journey of re-discovery.

It is a community of users who share local knowledge about places worldwide and every day over 20 million contributions of reviews to photography of local places are made on Google maps.

Dana Singh is a local guide based in Dublin and an active member of the Local Guide community, she uses the service to plan trips and share knowledge about the places she has traveled to help people.

Singh has in total uploaded over 1,000 images to Local Guides and is focused on helping local communities.

Through her knowledge, Dana has connected with many local businesses by assisting them in updating their business listings, and ensuring Google Map users can easily find them with up-to-date business information and images.

How Local Guides Help

Local Guides go beyond navigation to help people re-discover their home and the world by local knowledge.

If you want to travel around a particular area this summer and are unsure where to start to organise, you can follow a top local guide in the area to see all of their reviews to understand the potential area better.

However, if you want to stay more local this year, you might find a Local Guide who regularly reviews restaurants and follow them before your next takeaway or reservation in June.

Accessibility information is also available on Local Guides, many users of Local Guide include information about accessibility such as parking, terrain and how much walking is involved.

Explore Tab

In the explore tab, you can easily research an area in Ireland that will display local cafes, restaurants, and bars doing take away, reopened galleries and museums, the best beaches, landmarks or parks to visit.

With Local Guides and the Explore tab, staycationing can become more manageable, as you can keep track of all your favourite places you want to visit by using Lists that you can share or keep private.
