Expleo acquires UMS Consulting

Expleo, the global engineering, technology and consulting service provider, has signed an agreement for the immediate acquisition of management consulting firm, UMS Consulting GmbH & Co. KG.

Headquartered in Frankfurt, UMS Consulting has a strong presence in Germany with a global reach for its customers, and over 35 years of management consulting experience in strategy implementation, leadership, end-to-end process optimisation, innovation and digitalisation with a focus on lean-agile.

This strategic partnership, deepened through the acquisition, will strengthen Expleo’s digital transformation capabilities in Germany and Europe, and expand its presence in key strategic growth sectors such as banking, automotive, transportation, energy & utilities, and pharma & chemicals.

Through this acquisition, Expleo will add UMS’ management consulting expertise to its deep cross-industry capabilities in engineering and technology. As a result, customers will benefit from end-to-end support on their transformation journeys, from strategy to implementation.

UMS has more than 60 consulting experts and will join Expleo as an affiliate, continuing to operate under the UMS Consulting name as an autonomous brand, collaborating closely with Expleo and its other consulting affiliates in the UK and US – Moorhouse and Trissential – on common clients and objectives. UMS will also leverage Expleo’s global footprint and robust end-to-end digital and engineering capabilities to support customers around the world.

Damien Lasou, EVP Consulting & Business Services, Expleo, said: “Through the acquisition of UMS, we continue to strengthen our consulting offer. The capabilities, customer portfolios and geographic footprints of our two organisations are a strong complement to one another which we believe will support our growth and provide greater value to our customers worldwide.”

Stephan Lunau, MD, UMS Consulting, commented: “Successful business transformation relies not only on technical know-how but on energised people and organisations building needed organisational capabilities to achieve excellence. By becoming part of Expleo Group, our customers will benefit from the best-in-class digital and engineering capabilities Expleo offers. Our two organisations have been successful partners for some time, making this a natural next step for us. We look forward to this new era in our relationship and see it as a catalyst for mutual growth in the years to come.”
