When and where is it on?

The MJAC & CryptoCompare London Blockchain Summit is on Friday, 30th November (9am-6pm) and is being held at Old Billingsgate, London. We held the last event there; it’s a great venue in the heart of the City: http://www.oldbillingsgate.co.uk/

How many years has it been going?

MJAC, which is the disruptive technologies conference arm of ADVFN – a leading global stocks, shares and crypto information website for private investors – held its first event in Los Angeles in September 2017.

What was the inspiration to start it?

ADVFN has approximately 38 million users worldwide. We saw an overwhelming interest from this huge userbase in disruptive technologies/industries (including blockchain, lithium and medical marijuana), the companies operating within them and the investment opportunities they afford. It was a natural progression to create a platform for bringing experts in these fields together under one roof, for presenting prospects in these industries and educating.

What exciting things can people look forward to?

Having a front row seat to hear the pioneers, innovators and thought leaders of the blockchain industry. Seeing face-to-face many exciting companies, which are making waves in the blockchain industry. Discovering new investment opportunities.

What opportunities are on offer for those attending?

Delegates will get the opportunity to learn all about the latest developments, issues and investment opportunities within the blockchain and cryptocurrency fields and gain invaluable insights from the key players within the industry. They’ll also have the chance to ask questions directly. As well as having access to eminent people and companies, delegates will also get to discover more about a wealth of emerging companies and projects.

MJAC events also provide great networking opportunities. We had great feedback about all the connections made at June’s event.

Who will be speaking?

Obi Nwosu, CEO and Co-founder of Coinfloor will be speaking, with the company also being represented by Teana Baker-Taylor, who is Chief Marketing Officer. She did a fantastic job of moderating the ‘regulating cryptocurrencies’ discussion panel at the last event.

Joseph-Daniel Millwood, who leads Coinbase’s marketing operations in Europe. His focus is on bringing crypto to the masses.

We’re delighted to welcome back Claire Wells from Circle, who is joined by the company’s Global CMO and EMEA Managing Director Marieke Flament.

Cumberland is being represented by Lucas Friss, who is Head of Business Development. Cumberland (a DRW Company) is one of the largest bitcoin trading desks and a leading liquidity provider in cryptocurrencies.

Amir Ness, founder at Elevate Group, which is a combined bitcoin mining and media company. Amir’s ambition is to provide individuals with access to blockchain investments.

Marina Titova, Head of ICO Advisory at NKB Group, is joining us to speak.

Edd Carlton, Head of OTC Trading at BlockEX and Simon Taylor, Blockchain Practice Lead at 11:FS are returning. They were both fantastic panellists so we’re very pleased they are joining us once again.

High profile speakers from the industry are confirming every day so keep an eye on the website www.mjac.io for the latest additions.

What tips would you give to people attending to get the most out of it?

This is a golden opportunity to access innovators, leaders and experts in the field, so have some questions ready to ask. The event has two stages – the main stage and the ICO stage – make sure you utilise both. The main stage boasts the ‘household names’, but the ICO stage is home to some fantastic start-ups and presents a lot of interesting projects, which you can discover at ground level.

Also, stay for the after-show party. All too often after-show parties are a bit of a damp squib, but that isn’t the case at MJAC events. I’d say about 80% of people stayed on after the last presentations had wrapped up at June’s event, and they were very happy they did. You get a lot of extra insights when everyone’s relaxing a bit more!

How can people book tickets and when does it usually sell out?

June’s event was our first in the UK and there were over 1000 attendees.

Following its success, we’d expect November’s event to be a sell-out. You can book tickets now at www.mjac.io. The early bird price of £100 runs until midnight on October 31st (it’s £200 after this). Irish Tech News readers can get 30% off using the discount code IRISHTECHNEWS .

Anything else you’d like to add?

Whether cryptocurrencies are going up or down people are eager to discover more about them and the blockchain technology underpinning them. Blockchain technology is an amazing advancement and people want to learn more about its current and future applications. Education is key.
