It’s on Friday 30 November 2018 from 09:00 – 15:00 GMT in the DCU Alpha Innovation Campus Old Finglas Road Glasnevin.
How many years has it been going?
Smart Data Engineering – the Next Leap Forward? is a second event since the last year’s trial was a success.
What was the inspiration to start it?
Smart data engineering offers to transform enterprises through a spectrum of innovative and disruptive technologies, such as Big Data, IoT, Blockchain, Virtual Reality, Artificial Intelligence, deep learning etc. It helps to prevent systems failure, improve conceptual designs, and enable smart enterprises and digital transformation
What exciting things can people look forward to?
Experts and leaders in Smart Data Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, Data Engineering, and deep learning will come together for an engaging day exchanging practices and research. It will provide insights into current research and approaches in industry. Compelling innovations and disruptive transformations affecting the business world today would be addressed. Contributions will include digitalised production processes, impact of big data on data security, and how non-technical users can analyse data to gain valuable business insights faster.
Topics cover journey through machine learning and AI; Fintech fusion and future trends in banking; managing lifetime healthcare data on the blockchain; smart data use cases, and more.
What opportunities are on offer for those attending?
The event provides opportunities to meet and speak with the most innovative leaders from industry, government agencies, consultancies, and academia. We will also have a panel with experts debating on the future and challenges of Smart Data Engineering, Artificial Intellegence, and Blockchain.
Admission includes refreshments and lunch.
Who will be speaking?

How can people book tickets / when does it usually sell out?
The tickets are available on Eventbrite
Anything else you’d like to add / we should have asked?
Here’s a little about the organisers. ARC-SYM addresses complex and dynamic problems in science, engineering, health and maths by developing appropriate models and testing ideas.
Investigation of systems at all scales relies on knowledge of their design and operation, the relevant data, and translating this into useful information. We use our interdisciplinary expertise with DCU and national high-performance computing infrastructure to work with different academic and commercial groups to provide flexible and specific solutions in the area of research computing. This is fundamental to creating simulations and predictive analytics designed to verify, inform and develop information on complex systems.
