When and where is it on?
The Fairer Funding Now event is taking place at Huckletree D2 (The Academy, 42 Pearse Street, D02 YX88) in Dublin on Tuesday 4th December 2018 between 6.30 – 8.30pm.

What was the inspiration to start it?
Huckletree – a workspace accelerator – launched the Fairer Funding Now campaign in response to the lack of accessible funding for business owners from diverse backgrounds. With communities in both Dublin and London, the barriers that founders of diverse backgrounds were facing when seeking investment, were shown through their campaign film that can be be viewed here.
What exciting things can people look forward to?
The event will explore the topic of ‘How Do We Make Funding In Ireland More Diverse?’ with a line-up of VCs, entrepreneurs and thought leaders to review the state of funding for female founders in Ireland and explore the role of the VC community in breaking down obstacles in the fundraising process.
Amongst other topics, the panel will discuss the results of the Huckletree national entrepreneur survey including:
Only 15% of funding went to startups with a female founder in 2017.
28% of female startup leaders have experience discrimination directly.
What opportunities are on offer for those attending?
Following a moderated Q&A with a line-up of VCs, entrepreneurs and thought leaders within the Dublin start-up community, the audience will be invited to participate in a Q&A to answer any questions they have may have around entrepreneurialism, funding and diversity within the start-up space.
