Event Preview: 2019 Global Blockchain Industrial Development Forum, Korea

When and where is it on?
The Global Blockchain Economic Forum (GBEF) 2019 will be held at the Alpensia Resort in Pyeongchang, Gangwon Province from 28-29 January 2019. This event is co-hosted by Kangwon Provincial Administration and the Korea Digital Money Research Institute (KDC).

How many years has it been going?
This is the first time.

What was the inspiration to start it?

Gangwon province is proud to hold the Winter Olympic 2018, and they want to compete against other areas of Korea which claim to be the main location for cryptocurrencies in the country. Gangwon province will launch their own coin at the event.

What exciting things can people look forward to?

Again, the Gangwon-Do Coin will launch, and start the new economy with tourism and more.

What opportunities are on offer for those attending?

An opportunity to network and hear from industry experts

Who will be speaking?

The full list of speakers isn’t fully finalized, yet. Some high ranking officials from China and members of the Korean government, many experts on blockchain, cryptocurrency exchange, media, investors and spectators.

What tips would you give to people attending to get the most out of it?

Network and take the opportunity to learn from the industry experts and influencers. It’s going to be packed schedule. Just the cost for a weekend trip, this is definitely worth it. You are getting much more than what you are paying. (The entry fee will be less than $100.)

How can people book tickets / when does it usually sell out?
First come, first served for tickets. The maximum number of people for the venue will be 1,000 people. The special guests will around 230 people. The rest will be the spectators. That’s the maximum, and we cannot accept anymore for the safety.
