EuroSTAR 2022 to Celebrate 30 Years of Software Testing

Back in-person and taking place in Copenhagen, 7-10 June 2022, the EuroSTAR Conference is celebrating an incredible 30 years.

“The last 30 years have been filled with wonderful friendships, a passion for innovation and a shared mission to support software testers.

“We’ve come a long way and as we celebrate this milestone, we also look forward to many more years of valued connections and collaborations that make the EuroSTAR Community so special,” says Lorraine Banks of EuroSTAR Conferences.

Everything you need to know about EuroSTAR 2022

When and where is it on?

The 2022 EuroSTAR Software Testing Conference will be back in person and it is taking place in Copenhagen, Denmark, 7-10 June 2022. See the full details here.

How many years has it been going?

The EuroSTAR Conference is celebrating an incredible 30 years in 2022. It is Europe’s largest and longest-running software testing conference.

What was the inspiration to start it?

EuroSTAR was created in 1993 as a gathering of European software testers. A place to come together, share knowledge and make connections. EuroSTAR stands for European Software Testing Analysis & Review

What exciting things can people look forward to?

First and foremost, we are super excited to be back in person and can’t wait to see people face to face again.

We have also brought the conference forward to June (usually November) so it will be our first EuroSTAR in the sun!

There is a stellar line-up of speakers on the EuroSTAR 2022 programme of talks including:

Inspiring keynotes – speakers that are driving testing forward with innovations in their field – Smita Mishra (India) on testing software for the next economy; Rikard Edgren (Sweden) on how to generate a good understanding of testing through continuous learning; Michael Bolton (Canada) with insights on testing through digital transformation; Nancy Kelln (Canada) explores shifting testing to new methods; and Alex Schladebeck (Germany) on the future of testing, and how it will shape teams and testers’ work.

Interactive workshops & tutorials – on wide-ranging topics from agile to strategy, new technologies, DevOps and lots more. Expert trainers will share learnings and actionable tactics.

Track Talks to Refresh Your Learning – covering testing techniques to test management, skills development, challenges and more.

EuroSTAR 2022 Track Talk speakers include testing legends and superstars such as Dorothy Graham, Michaël Pilaeten, Ard Kramer, Andrea Jensen, Kristoffer Nordström, and Isabel Evans.

What opportunities are on offer for those attending?

EuroSTAR has talks for all levels from new testers to the Head of Testing.

You get to meet the experts in-person and get your questions answered either during the Q&A or by approaching the speaker directly after their talk.

This is a welcoming community, and you’ll meet testers from over 50 countries, all looking for better ways to achieve their goals.

New connections are made over coffee, challenges shared (and solved!) over lunch, and new ideas are sparked at dinner.

Networking is one of the top reasons for attending EuroSTAR as you’ll expand your knowledge base and advance your career with the help of speakers, fellow delegates and participating partners.

Who will be speaking?

EuroSTAR will feature 70 speakers from 22 different countries. They come from a wide range of industries including Banking, Government, Automotive, Retail, Gaming, Software, Telecoms, Security as well as consultants in testing, digital transformation, and innovation services.

What tips would you give to people attending to get the most out of it?

Check out the schedule of talks and select your preferred tutorial as they can fill up fast.

Get an idea of what other talks you’d like to attend so you arrive with a plan. You can filter the programme by day, topic, or even country if you wish!

Download the conference networking app the week before and start connecting with delegates. Only confirmed attendees will have access and there are always fun meet-ups arranged on the fly from morning walks to Lego lunches! It’s a great way to get involved and let’s face it, we are all out of practice!

Attend the social events. This is a great way to meet more people and start random conversations. Some really exciting partnerships and projects were started over a dinner chat at EuroSTAR.

How can people book tickets / when does it usually sell out?

Head over to the EuroSTAR website and choose your preferred ticket.

As the Programme has just launched, you can save 20% on individual tickets if you book before 28th February or opt for a group bundle and save up to 43%. Prices rise on 1st March, but you’ll be available to get the 10% Early Bird offer right through to 22nd April.

You can book your EuroSTAR conference ticket with confidence thanks to the flexible T&Cs.

Anything else you’d like to add / we should have asked?

EuroSTAR 2022 is taking place in the Bella Center. It is a fantastic venue with lots of space and just a short hop from both Copenhagen airport and the city centre.

See you in Copenhagen, 7-10 June – full details on www.eurostarsoftwaretesting.com
