The Fueling Ambition Roadshow – an Enterprise Ireland and Network Ireland initiative in partnership with the Entrepreneurs Academy – will come to Cork on Wednesday 11 April at 5.30pm in the Rochestown Park Hotel. With the theme ‘Lead and Succeed’, the event invites existing and potential female entrepreneurs to attend and gain insights about the road to business success, or take part in the Elevator Pitch competition.

Following the success of last year’s roadshow, the key feature of this year’s event will be the Elevator Pitch competition. Participants in the competition will have the chance to win a €2,000 prize, sponsored by Facebook. Additional prizes include 10 sessions with Enterprise Ireland Mentors and attendance at Enterprise Ireland’s Excel at Export Selling training programme, and annual membership of Network Ireland.

Also taking place on the evening will be a Leadership Masterclass, delivered by the Entrepreneurs Academy and a ‘Lead and Succeed’ panel of entrepreneurs including Estelle Power, Director of IDS Irish Door Systems Ltd. and Colette Quinn, Founder/Managing Director of Real Insights, who will share their insights into setting up and developing your business. This will be hosted by Rachael James, Female Entrepreneurship Manager, Enterprise Ireland.

President of Network Ireland, Cork Branch, Karen Fleming said: “We are delighted to join forces with Enterprise Ireland for the annual roadshow. We are constantly looking for new ways to encourage, support and drive the ambition of female entrepreneurs in Cork. We urge all female business persons in cork to come and take part. We are all looking forward to the Elevator Pitch competition, but the many other aspects of this fantastic event mean that it will be informative and inspiring for a broad range of business women at various stages in their career.”

Speaking about the upcoming roadshow, Rachael James, Female Entrepreneurship Manager, Enterprise Ireland said: “Supporting female entrepreneurs in achieving their global ambition is a key objective for Enterprise Ireland and the Fueling Ambition Roadshow is an important initiative in reaching out to women regionally to tell them about the supports available and to encourage them to ‘lead and succeed’ in business. More than one in three start-ups supported by Enterprise Ireland last year through our Competitive Start Fund and High Potential Start-Up programmes were female-led – this compares to one in ten start-ups in 2012. We are very encouraged by this upward trend but want to see more women starting their own businesses and successfully scaling existing businesses. We look forward to meeting and connecting with them during this year’s Fueling Ambition Roadshow.”

Representatives from Enterprise Ireland, the LEOs and Network Ireland will be on hand to discuss the wide range of supports available to female entrepreneurs and those thinking of starting their own businesses. The roadshow will also take place in a number of other locations across the country in the coming weeks; Limerick (19 April), Killarney (26 April) and Roscommon (1 May). The events will provide an opportunity to network with like-minded entrepreneurs and business people.
