Enactus Ireland has called on third level students to apply for their Live Like Never Before Project, aimed at kickstarting a COVID-19 recovery for young people driven by young people.
The project, funded by the Coca- Cola Thank You Fund, challenges Third Level students to develop social entrepreneurial projects aimed at promoting a healthy lifestyle and positive well-being for young people aged between 16 and 25 years across Ireland.
The five successful applicants, once chosen, will receive training and support to develop their projects, as well as a financial bursary to help get their projects off the ground.
Likewise, Enactus Ireland will provide mentorship and ongoing programme support throughout the process.
The training will help students develop a true understanding of the problem at hand, how to build and maintain key partnerships, show them the pathway to implementing the Social Business Model canvas and finally how best to measure impact and evaluate success.
Measures of success will include:
— improving fitness
— addressing dietary issues
— connecting with others in a positive way
— exiting from social isolation
— developing a new skill
— improving sleep patterns
— developing positive mental health
— reducing stress and/or anxiety
— developing positive life plans
Laura Dennehy, Enactus Country Lead said, “We are delighted to be launching this call to action for young people to lead the way in promoting a healthy lifestyle. This exciting new programme in collaboration with the Coca Cola Thank You Fund will help students to become change-makers for their own generation.
“At the end of the programme, students will gain confidence, skills that will be valuable for their future career in any field and they will be part of the truly enriching Enactus community. Closing date for applications is Friday 19th February Please contact [email protected] to request the application form .”
Enactus Ireland has a long history of developing successful social enterprises which improve people’s health and wellbeing. The skills and tools gained help drive positive change ensuring students continue to make a positive impact on society long after college.
