eFax research reveals IT decision-makers accelerating digital transformation due to disruption caused by COVID-19

eFax, the world’s leading online fax solution, today announces the findings of research revealing how UK IT decision-makers are accelerating digital transformation due to disruption caused by Covid-19.

The research conducted on behalf of eFax by independent research organisation Vanson Bourne has found that whilst most UK IT decision-makers (60%) are accelerating the speed of digital transformation as a direct result of disruption to their workforce caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the vast majority (77%) of UK IT decision-makers would have accelerated digital transformation sooner if they were aware of the full impact it could make on their organisation in just a few months.

The findings also found that half of all IT decision-makers (51%) believe if more budget had been available for digital transformation, then their organisations would have been encouraged to accelerate digital transformation sooner, whilst two in five UK IT decision-makers (41%) believe more buy-in from leadership would have encouraged their organisation to accelerate digital transformation initiatives sooner.

“This latest evidence from eFax shows IT decision-makers have accelerated digital transformation throughout the lockdown, said Scott Wilson, Director of Customer Experience, eFax. “It’s now vital that UK IT decision-makers receive the winning combination of continued financial and leadership support to accelerate digital transformation initiatives even further, continued Wilson.

Additional factors which IT decision-makers believe would have helped organisations accelerate digital transformation sooner include:

• More cooperation between departments (34%)
• More flexible services from technology suppliers (30%)
• Less focus on trying to make legacy processes work (29%)

“We’ve seen mandates for digital transformation to be accelerated across both our public and enterprise sectors, said Wilson. “IT decision-makers need the full collaboration and flexibility of colleagues and suppliers to continue to deliver on this promise.”

The eFax research surveyed 100 UK IT decision-makers across organisations in Business & Professional Services, Financial Services, IT, Retail, Distribution & Transport and Manufacturing industries.
