We chat with Vinnie O’Brien about an interesting event coming up, Speakers Corner
When and where is it on?
This is a webinar (yes, another one) taking place currently across 5 countries, June 25th 8pm. Hosted from Tralee, London, Kildare, Portugal and Dublin.
How many years has it been going?
I started this dinner series in February, pre lockdown and saw many reasons to keep it going. I had to priorities more practical matters first in terms of helping and consultations.
What was the inspiration to start it?
This is a spin off from last years eCommerce Summit in Tralee. We have some really great people lined up to speak and give opinions and the format is a combination of feedback and observations from lockdown webinars. The fun part is to expose through gifting, some really brilliant direct to consumer ecommerce brands, who maybe struggle for exposure. I want to give them a boost.
What exciting things can people look forward to?
3-4 minutes opinion style discussions from a variety of people from the ecommerce and marketing worlds.
Free wine delivery
Free gifts for attendees
Building a new network
Having fun
What opportunities are on offer for those attending?
As above, but really importantly, starting to create a network and communicating. We are aware of the difficulties with travel and uncovering people. Well this is an attempt to bring this together in the way we do so well in Ireland – expressing opinions and having a drink whilst doing it.
Who will be speaking?
Richard Chapple – a founding C level director of Gymshark and former CEO of the Hut Group who just had a 1 year turnover of £1B announced last week. A superb expert on ecommerce scale ups. Richard will be delivering a discussion titled – Playbook vs Game – Strategy vs Tactics.
What tips would you give to people attending to get the most out of it?
Speak up, have an open mind and get social on it. It’s value will be people connected during and after the webinar.
How can people book tickets / when does it usually sell out?
Sign up is free – Register here – https://zoom.us/webinar/88173968247 We are closing this Wednesday 11pm GMT. We expect it to be full before this day, so book today. I have now delivered 12 weeks of webinars and spoken to people in approx. 40 countries and over 600 companies now. Engagement and a thirst for knowledge dipped a week or two ago and we want to make this fun again.
Anything else you’d like to add / we should have asked?
If this is successful, we will host 2 more before the summer is over. We want discovery of DTC brands to be a regular occurrence. Sponsors welcome – email vinny@vinnyandco.com
