Due to Covid-19 and the Level 5 lockdown, more people have started their Christmas shopping earlier than ever before. Visits to ebay.ie have increased by 26% since October 1st as the gift-buying season begins from home, and it is expected that traffic will increase further as the festive season looms closers.

To lend a helping hand, ebay.ie today releases its most-searched-for products over the past six weeks to show what’s on the nations’ wish list this year ahead of the Black Friday sales.

As a loyal supporter of Irish businesses, ebay.ie is encouraging shoppers to buy from local Irish businesses with a special sales event this Black Friday. Shoppers will be able to nab up to 25% off Irish products such as clothing, homeware and tech, which is front of mind according to Ireland’s recent search habits.

Gadgets, Games & Golf

— 80% of the most-searched-for products on ebay.ie are electronics and gadgets, with laptops, smartwatches and gaming PCs all making the list
— Apple products are the most popular, accounting for 55% of the top 20 searches over the past six weeks
— The iPhone X is the most popular Apple product, while the Macbook and iPhone 11 are second and third respectively
— The newly released PlayStation 5 is the most searched for games console along with the Nintendo Switch

Ahead of the Black Friday event, eBay’s Hazel Mitchell said: “It’s been a difficult year for Irish businesses, which is why we are focusing on promoting these sellers during this year’s Black Friday event. There are many amazing Irish brands on ebay.ie across all categories, so why not check out the likes of HQ Tech and Global Trade for your new tech and support local sellers while gifting loved ones this festive season.”
