DustAid is on a mission to unite the world in cryptocurrency giving to charitable causes. That’s why this December it is partnering with Coinbase to enable their customers to donate crypto to three charities this Christmas. DustAid will be using Coinbase Commerce – the platform that allows merchants to accept cryptocurrency payments in a fully decentralised way – to facilitate these donations.

This partnership will therefore allow Coinbase users in the UK to donate crypto to three great causes:

NSPCC, the UK’s leading children’s charity that seeks to keep young people safe from abuse;

The Little Edi Foundation, which provides support to struggling rural communities in the UK, Moldova, and Romania;

Space for Giants, who work to protect and secure the future of elephants and their landscapes.

The NSPCC is now receiving cryptocurrency donations, with all proceeds going towards helping Childline be there for even more young people in need of support and advice this Christmas.

Childline is the only service available to support young people 24/7 right through the festive period. However, at present it can only be there for two in every three children and teenagers that contact them.

The Little Edi Foundation wrap, pack and send over 1,600 shoe boxes to the very poorest children in the rural villages of Moldavia. These children would otherwise receive nothing at Christmas. All boxes are transported by Medical Missionary News based in Wickford, Essex at no cost to the charity. The boxes are hand delivered with love by the Shoebox Dream Team who travels out each year.

Each Shoebox is filled with toys and supplies and costs £10.

To carry out the Space for Giants vision of securing a future for elephants and their landscapes forever, the collaring of elephants is crucial.  Since Space for Giants started, they have collared close to 50 elephants to monitor their movements. This helps inform their pioneering research on elephant behaviour and their interactions in increasingly-human dominated landscapes. This information is important for authorities to choose where to approve development, and where to leave land wild.

The charity hopes to help collar and track two elephants with funds raised this Christmas period.

Duncan Murray, Managing Director of DustAid, said: “We firmly believe that by using blockchain technology we can help charities positively impact people all over the world. DustAid’s mission is to make giving a simple, easy and transparent part of our daily lives.

We are really proud to be working with leading organisations like Coinbase to make this a reality.”
