Virgin Media Business has announced the delivery of high-speed internet access to circa 2,000 students living with Uninest Student Residences accommodation in Dublin. As part of the deal, Virgin Media will supply each student accommodation residence with download and upload speeds of 1GB, smart Wi-Fi and a separate dedicated network for students and staff. There will also be a separate dedicated network for guests to use while they’re visiting family and friends.
Uninest’s newly built student accommodation will be providing circa 2,000 students with high-speed internet access across city centre residences including Uninest New Mill, Kavanagh Court and Broadstone Hall. As part of their student centred offering, Uninest will use Virgin Media’s super-fast Wi-Fi to provide students with smart door entry systems, online access to laundry services and gym facilities as well as providing access to Ireland’s fastest broadband network across five locations.
Paul Farrell, Vice President of Commercial at Virgin Media said: “Virgin Media is delighted to be providing high-speed internet access to some 2,000 students across Uninest’s five city centre student accommodation locations. With 1GB connectivity, smart distributed Wi-Fi, and separate dedicated networks for students, staff and guests in all five residences, students will have their internet needs matched whatever they may be.”
Joe Persechino, Commercial Operations Director, EMEA – New Markets & Product said: “Our developments across Dublin reflect GSA’s design and specification signatures which provide students with accommodation specifically tailored to their needs. These include generous communal spaces, bright and welcoming student entrances, high levels of natural light in all rooms, as well as using sector leading technologies.
“Students tell us that high-speed, reliable internet provision is one of their top priorities, which is why we’ve chosen Virgin Media as our partner to supply broadband and Wi-Fi to our first five residences across Dublin. The smart door entry systems which form part of the contract will also ensure the security of those living with us.”
