In the last few days the developers behind Dolphin Browser have released a new Beta version for people to try. The Beta version comes with some big claims of improved performance over other Android browsers, which include:
Dolphin Engine’s HTML-5 Rendering is:
5-10X faster than the default Android browser
100% faster than Chrome (at times)
Initially scored over 450 when tested on HTML5test.com. (HTML5test.com is an a respected tool for testing a browser’s support of HTML5) [sic]
We’ve been testing it on a Galaxy SIII and while there are some improvements over other browsers, it is hard to notice as much of a difference as is claimed. Our HTML5 test came in at 430, which is still above most Android browsers, but the stock browser on the SIII still feels faster in real world use.
Still, it has been one of our favourite Android Apps form some time and still brings some unique features to the platform.
If you want to give it a try check out the link below for details on how to download it.
