By @SimonCocking. We spoke with Anthony Quigley about the upcoming Digital Transformation Conference, at the Pavilion Theatre, Dun Laoghaire, Co Dublin taking place on 8th June 2017 (see here more info and for tickets).
How to future proof your businesses. Digital Transformation Conference, Dun Laoghaire, June 8th
What you are doing now?
I am director with Digital Marketing Institute and Code Institute, EdTech businesses in the digital marketing and software development sectors, respectively. They are at different stages of their development and therefore require appropriate guidance and input from me. I also help a few other businesses with their growth plans.
How was the last 12 months, what worked well, what didn’t move as quickly as you would have liked?
The past 2 months have been, in the main, pretty positive. We have spent a lot of time on our brand development and this has had a very positive result on sentiment and sales. As an entrepreneur, you always want all parts of the business to move faster!
What are your plans for the future?
Each year I try to improve on the previous year. This is no exception, and this is an ongoing process for me. One of the most important things that a business can do to improve is to hire great staff. We try to create an atmosphere that will attract people who want to work for us, and, over the next 12 months, I will continue to strive to bring the best talent into the businesses.
What will you be talking about at this event?
I will be primarily sharing my experience of using digital technologies to improve the way a business can improve processes, accelerate growth and increase revenues.
Why should people attend it?
As chairman of Dun Laoghaire BID, I am a huge believer in the ability for Dun Laoghaire to become a centre for digital expertise over the coming years. The town has the necessary foundations and infrastructure to make this a reality and we have the expertise with the area: next step is bring together these various forces. The Digital Dun Laoghaire initiative has already started down this road, so it is is simply a matter of time!
