Digital Skills Institute Launched to Meet Demand for Affordable Online Training

In what is an exciting and innovative new venture for the benefit of Irish businesses, the Digital Skills Institute has been launched today, September 14, and to celebrate, they’re offering a discount of 20% on any course booked in the first week.

Bringing together a wide range of industry experts, the Digital Skills Institute aims to teach businesses the skills required to be successful online.

The importance of digital marketing for businesses in Ireland cannot be overstated. It is now estimated that Irish consumers spend almost €700,000 online each hour, so getting it right online is more important than ever for Irish businesses.

The Digital Skills Institute will offer courses on a wide range of digital marketing disciplines, and are launching with a suite of 15 online courses, each running for 8 weeks, and focusing on a specific area of digital marketing.

Aptly, businesses will be able access the course from their own home, or workplace, via a computer, tablet or smartphone, meaning that you can partake in the course from anywhere, with no need to travel. This is likely to appeal to thousands of Irish businesses, because the courses are online, it makes them both more affordable, and more accessible.

Meeting the digital needs of Irish businesses

Founded by Brian Duffy, the formation of the Digital Skills Institute represents an exciting time for businesses and online marketing in Ireland. Head of web and multimedia studies at Ballsbridge College in Dublin Mr Duffy specialises in teaching small businesses and marketers how to do business online.

In four years he has trained hundreds of small businesses on how to manage and market their websites online via his own online teaching system. He explained: “Many of these businesses had already invested in digital marketing training and they all had the same complaints.”

These complaints were that training was too expensive, it was inconvenient travelling to Dublin, and, businesses were still left without the practical skills they needed.

He continued: “So, the idea behind the Digital Skills Institute is to address these three problems by making this training accessible and affordable to business owners everywhere – and ensuring that they get the practical, hands-on skills they need to start seeing immediate results promoting and growing their business online.”

Courses are priced below €300, and include eight weeks worth on hands-on lesson material – plus three months on-demand access to your tutor.
