Digital Realty (NYSE: DLR), the largest global provider of cloud- and carrier-neutral data centre, colocation, and interconnection solutions, has announced a new partnership with Tata Communications, a global digital ecosystem enabler that offers an array of connectivity solutions, including Internet Access and Transit services.
Designed to power today’s fast-growing digital economy, Tata Communications’ Internet Access and Transit services deliver high-performing internet to help businesses overcome the demanding traffic from cloud, video, and web. New to the Irish market, Tata Communications will deploy IP Transit Services in Digital Realty’s DUB1 and DUB2 data centre facilities, enhancing connectivity options for organisations in Ireland, further strengthening the data centre landscape and global connectivity solutions available in the region.
IP Transit Services is where an Internet Service Provider (ISP) allows traffic to cross its network to reach a destination. Recognising the growing need for bandwidth driven by cloud, video, web, and mobility services in Ireland, Tata Communications has introduced a cutting-edge offering that promises to significantly enhance productivity and user experience for its diverse range of customers. These customers include service providers, over-the-top (OTT) providers, cloud service providers, and enterprises, all of which will benefit from Tata Communications’ robust network solutions.
Commenting on the announcement, Séamus Dunne, Managing Director UK & Ireland, Digital Realty, said, “We’re delighted to have Tata Communications join our strong community of connectivity providers. Tata brings flexible and scalable solutions to local and global organisations, enabling them to meet their connectivity needs. At Digital Realty, we understand the importance of connectivity for all organisations and this partnership underscores our commitment to meeting the burgeoning demand for enhanced connectivity services for our Irish and global customer base.”
Hon Kit Lam, Vice President of Hybrid Connectivity Services, Tata Communications also commented, “We chose Digital Realty as our data centre provider in Dublin due to our long-standing relationship. With 52 points of presence in 22 countries, we are excited about entering the Irish market, given Dublin’s strategic importance to many multinational companies. We’re delighted to extend our internet access and transit solutions to the Irish market.”
