Dell Technologies and Technologies Ireland today hosted a webinar entitled “Opportunities of a Remote Workforce: Investing in the Future”. The webinar brought together businesses leaders, technologists and HR professionals to demonstrate how new technological solutions, an inclusive company culture and strong leadership can help those working from home to thrive.
Included amongst the guest speakers were Jason Ward, Vice-President and Managing Director, Dell Technologies Ireland; Marie Moynihan, Senior Vice President of Global Talent Acquisition, Dell Technologies; Pat Quigley, Vice-President, Team Member Experience, Dell Technologies; and Una Fitzpatrick, Director, Technology Ireland.
During the webinar, Dell Technologies highlighted existing supports open to eligible Irish SMEs to help fund the critical technology needs of a remote workforce. Dell Technologies has rolled out the Payment Flexibility Programme, which includes 0% interest rates for all server, storage and networking solutions and up to a 180-day payment deferral. The company has made $9bn in financing available this year to help fund IT investment by businesses, including those in Ireland.
Speaking at the webinar, Jason Ward, Vice-President and Managing Director, Dell Technologies Ireland said: “Businesses large and small have faced unprecedented challenges in recent months. Many have had to cope with personally adapting to working remotely for the first time while also managing their entire workforce during this new reality.
“In order to remain competitive, many have had to transform their business model overnight. From sharing our own decade long experience of managing a remote workforce to providing the technology needed to support employees working from home, Dell Technologies has been helping businesses in recent months to accelerate their digital transformation journeys.”
“Our Payment Flexibility Programme is one of the ways we are helping Irish SMEs to revaluate IT priorities to drive business continuity in the ‘new normal’. Through this programme and our latest technology, Irish businesses can harness the opportunities of a remote workforce and invest in their digital future while also preserving liquidity over the coming months. I would encourage anyone interested to get in touch with our team today.”
Una Fitzpatrick, Director, Technology Ireland said: “Maintaining a connected workforce is now a priority for businesses in all sectors. Although many businesses now have employees working from home, many are still struggling with how to successfully manage a remote workforce and protect the health and safety of employees working from home.
“The webinar hosted today by Technology Ireland and Dell Technologies provided an opportunity to highlight the role technology can play in not only maintaining workforce productivity but ensuring that innovation continues to flourish – irrespective of where employees are located. The lessons learnt from Dell Technologies own journey of flexible working can empower others to create a culture and environment that enables employees to do their best work whether at home or returning to the office.”
