Dell Technologies: Helping businesses preserve cash flow

Dell Technologies today revealed tips to help Irish small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) preserve cash flow within their business.

This is whilst they continue to invest in the technology required to enhance remote working and address customer needs.

Dell Technologies- Outlining the importance of adaption

With many businesses continuing to operate remotely, Dell Technologies has outlined the importance of accelerating digital transformation in helping Irish SMEs to adapt and emerge stronger from the COVID-19 crisis.

Despite a growing reliance on technology to survive, research by Dell Technologies has shown that more than 50% of businesses rely on outdated IT infrastructure overloaded with data, unable to work fast enough and operating with privacy and cybersecurity concerns.

Jason Ward, Vice-President, and General Manager, Dell Technologies Ireland said:

“There has been a massive acceleration of digital transformation in recent months as businesses in Ireland sought to overcome the immediate challenges of COVID-19. What seemed unimaginable four months ago has been made possible with the power of technology.

“But as we look to the future, businesses must ensure they have the technology to sustain a remote workforce for the months and years ahead.

Recent research has revealed that 4 in 5 employees are now looking to maintain a flexible approach to work into the future. This requires significant technical and also cultural change in how to do business and in creating new ways of working.

I think the lessons we’ve learned at Dell Technologies from our own remote working journey can help empower others to create an environment where employees can do their best work whether at home or returning to the office.

With so many businesses facing competing pressures to preserve liquidity while also increasingly meeting the new technology needs of their employees, Dell Technologies has set out a number of recommendations that will enable SMEs to invest smartly in new technology.”

The tips to preserve cash today without sacrificing future growth or innovation are as follows:

Deploy technology as a utility service

Look for ways to consume IT where you only pay for what you use via a subscription-based or consumption-based model. This option is available across a wide range of IT solutions, including laptops and core infrastructure.

Make choices with the future in mind

Simplify the ability to modernise existing IT with technology partners who can deliver system upgrades at any time with no additional costs.

Avoid being locked into a single Cloud

When it comes to cloud strategy, avoid being locked into a single public cloud vendor. Manage cost, risk and data in more meaningful ways by spreading IT operations across multiple public and private clouds.

Seek out smart financial options

Review your options and look for smart financial options that offer zero or low interests together with deferred payments. Or look to put all costs together into one payment plan, which could make it easier to work within your budget.

Lease your equipment

Whether it be new or refurbished, which can sometimes be more cost-effective. Leasing refurbished equipment can also help your business meet its sustainability goals.

Dell Technologies is here to help Irish SMEs accelerate their digital transformation during the coming months. The company has rolled out the Payment Flexibility Programme, which includes 0% interest rates for all server, storage, and networking solutions and up to a 180-day payment deferral.
